Lighthearted adventures

The moment i stepped foot on Dumaguete ground i knew i had to blog the whole experience. You see, travelling alone and not to mention, on places i have never visited before, is totally new to me. I do love to travel but anxiety accommodated me through it, along with a whole bundle of mixed emotions. But! i'm ecstatic that i made my way through everything. And i can say i'm super proud of myself. *pats own back πŸ™ˆ

04/06/07 | my flight to Cebu at 9:35am and receiving much love from my phone playlist. Really, music made the travel much more fun. 🎧

I arrived at almost 10:30am and immediately rode a taxi to my uncle's house and rested. Moments later i was texted by a friend, Veron, and asked me if i could go with her on her errands. So we went to USC and UC, for her Lawschool application and did catching up in between. It's never boring when you're with her, like, she's the type of friend whom you never run out of stories and things to talk about (Thanks ate V!)
And so we had dinner at Larsian's, the place full of grilled food and barbecued meat, seafood and stuff alike. Day 1 was pretty awesome!

The next day i woke up pretty early (i was anxious about the trip) because the bus to Dumaguete leaves at exactly 6am. My uncle drove me to the terminal, and i was seated beside a girl with her son on her lap, sleeping. I had to share my anxiety in between the trip so a couple of hours later we talked a little, and she guided me throughout the whole ride. I thank God for putting hidden blessings and angels into place, that goes to show God really never leaves His children, and will do everything not to leave us astray. ☺️ so we rode a barge to Negros Oriental. The ocean looked amazing and the breeze felt really comforting. 🌞

After 5 hours of tiresome travel i finally arrived in Dumaguete πŸ‘ (yey!). Rom's cousin, Shin, picked me up and showed me the place i will stay for the night. We then went to Silliman University to meet up with her girlfriend, Shan, (Ikr? Shin~Shan haha!) for lunch. We ate at a small and nice restaurant. The city is filled with various lovely restaurants, cafes, and teashops which are really fancy and suitable for study-outs, dates, and chills! I heard that Dumaguete ranked number one on the Best retirement places list- and i couldn't agree more.

They toured me inside Silliman University, which was a univeristy as big as a whole Barangay. The place was very clean, quiet, and had that 'naturey-vintagey' aura, which was really, really nice. Some people say that every picture taken inside is 'imstagrammable' (True, true). We went over the colleges' enormous buildings, and the unpredictable sites inside the campus, like a swimming pool, 4-5 fields, sports arenas, museums, halls, gyms, churches, chapels, ampitheatres, etcetera. Not to mention a whole lot of big oak and acacia trees.

Thanks for the help, dear timer.

First Time to meet Shan, and she is adorable. Our personalities clicked right away!

Lovely campus, right?

I can't thank you enough, Shin&Shan, for being the most awesome tourguides ever! Funny how they tried their best to convince me to enroll here. Well, let's just see πŸ˜‰

And here is the school's medical center

Silliman University Medical School's new modern building

Heeee. These pictures make me really happy. Anyway, i had my interview at 2pm, i was destined to be interviewed by a pair of married doctors. And i enjoyed the whole interview sesh. They asked me a bunch of questions like why enroll here, why do i want to be a doctor and stuff like that. I just answered every question as honestly as possible. I remember telling them the story of how i will be able to obtain the tuition fee in case i got accepted. I told them that my father and his siblings are more than willing to sell their shared property for me to go to medschool, and they both bursted with laughter. I mean it's true, i am the first grandchild to go to medschool, and all of them went excited and were very much supportive.

I was shocked to discover that the result would be hours right away from the interview. And tadaaaaa, at 5:38pm i received a magical text!

Weehee! God is great! Although we are not so sure yet if i'd enroll here, i thank the Lord for this wonderful opportunity! ❤️

Shan had classes up to 7pm, so we had to wait for her to continue our tour. Now we're up for the city tour! And so we met up with shan, and rode Motorcycles to the Boulevard or Baywalk, i'm not so sure which name they call it. And the streets and city lights were so beautiful.

(Fave part) And i will not get through the night without FOOD! We had dinner at a restaurant called Sans Rival. Their food was deliciousπŸ‘Œ we ordered Cheesy Lasagna for dinner. Nom. 😍

I already think vintage here is mainstream 😜

Sylvannas and Sans Rivals are heaven 🍰

Had too much of desserts. I'll just take a picture instead of all these mouthwatering cakes. πŸŽ‚ mmm decadent.

The night is yet over! Went to Poppy's Cafe for more and more delights. Shin ate the Brazo de Mercedes-flavored cupcake though πŸ˜‚

04/08/15 | I am ready to head back home! Although i planned to go at 5am and Shin managed get up at almost 7:30am already which is just fine. ☺️

I THANK GOD FOR THIS EXPERIENCE! πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’š❤️

This is something i will remember for the rest of my life. Now i should be able to repeatedly ask myself, 'Am i ready for this new life?' πŸ˜ΆπŸ‘£

I'm leaving this post with something i had while on a trip back to Cebu- Carcar's special chicharon 🐷

and Laguna's Buko pie (The best i had ever so far) πŸ₯

Yay! Thanks for making an effort to read. 🌈 xx
